WMGK Rock Art Show Information

When: Friday, March 6th– Sunday March 29

Where:
The Shops at Liberty Place, 16th & Chestnut, Philadelphia PA

What:
 You'll find everything from Aerosmith to ZZ Top. The MGK Classic Rock Show is a visual history of classic rock that you can walk through for FREE and then take home with you. You'll find paintings/drawings made by rock legends like Lennon & Bowie plus amazing, candid photos of The Stones, Zeppelin, Floyd and TONS MORE. there's over 250 pieces of art available for purchase for as low as $5 and as high as $10,000.

A portion of exhibit sales and 100% of silent auction sales will go to this year’s charity,
“Little Steven” Van Zandt’s Rock N Roll Forever Foundation.  Van Zandt  is the honorary chairperson for this year’s MGK Classic Rock Art Show.

It Ain't Rock N Roll But We Like It:  This year’s exhibit will also feature a section featuring art created by celebs such as Muhammad Ali, Charles Bronson, Bill Mahr, Tennessee Williams, James Dean.

Theme:  MGK is proud to have the most knowledgeable passionate DJs in Philadelphia.  They've lived, loved experienced the music they play for you everyday.  This year, the MGK DJs helped arrange the art for the Show. and have submitted pieces of art to the 100% charity 100% local Silent Auction.  The majority of art in the exhibit is displayed in sections named after the MGK DJ that picked it.

Silent Auction:  This year's 100% charity, 100% local Silent Auction is comprised of paintings and photographs by area artists/photographers that feature The Beatles, The Police, The Clash, The Rolling Stones and more.  100% of the proceeds from the silent auction will go to this year’s charity.

Special Addition:
  As an added addition this year, MGK DJs John DeBella/Jen Posner, Debbi Calton, Andre Gardner and Ray Koob are all submitted individual pieces to the Silent Auction portion of the exhibit.

3/6 3/7 - Scotty C, renowned concert poster designer will be signing his work
3/13-3/15 - Live painting from Ron Campbell (Beatles “Yellow Submarine”,Saturday Morning Beatles, Rug Rats, Scooby Doo)

Little Steven Van Zandt's Rock N Roll Forever Foundation
 

The Rock N Roll Forever Foundation Foundation is a 501(c)(3) 
created in 2007 by Little Steven Van Zandt.  
Little Steven’s Rock and Roll High School (LSRRHS) 
is the Foundation’s national middle and high school curriculum initiative. 
The LSRRHS program is geared toward national
and state standards and is interdisciplinary in scope.
It’s curriculum will feature a 
forty-chapter History of Rock and Roll, written by famous authors
that will provide the basis for over fifty lesson plans, teacher guides
and supporting audio and video materials.  
The aforementioned will be provided 
FREE to interested schools 
and will be available online for the general public.  

Van Zandt plays guitar in Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band
played the role of Silvio Dante in The Sopranos, and
 hosts Little Steven’s Underground Garage 
nationally syndicated radio show 
(Sunday nights from 10-Midnight on 102.9 WMGK)
