Baron Wolman/Rick Garcia
This is one of six different multi-media collaboration prints between photographer Baron Wolman and artist Rick Garcia. Only 50 copies of each giclee print were produced! For the original monoprint Baron had his photograph of Jerry Garcia printed on canvas upon which Rick added his unique interpretation with brush and airbrush. The photograph of Jerry Garcia was taken in 1969 by Baron Wolman, Rolling Stone Magazine’s first chief photographer. The photograph was shot for the Stone’s first cover story on the Grateful Dead. It was the first time that Jerry so openly displayed his missing finger in a photograph. Rick Garcia is a nationally known painter whose work appears regularly at Grammy ceremonies. He also paints custom one-of-a-kind guitars for Gibson, produces stamp sets for the United Nations and was commissioned to make a painting for Absolut Vodka in their widely acclaimed series. Ask to see all six different prints. Only one example is framed for your viewing.
